Making money online sounds like a dream to many of us. But the four apps we're going to show you today promise exactly that. The principle behind it is simple. You complete tasks and are rewarded for them. So just like a normal job. Many of these apps follow the motto "small livestock also makes crap". So you get about four to five euros for a task. We have tested all apps on Android and give you our report.
Streetspotr
In the Streetspotr app, you can play Touri in your own city. The registration takes a bit, but once you're done with it, you can accept orders. In our first assignment, we were asked to come to Kantstrasse to check the presence of a technology brand in a computer shop. This includes things like photographing the store from the outside and inside, but also writing reports on what the tech department looks like in the store.
How often is the brand is shown, which other providers stand next to it and maybe look better? Or how many of the devices on display are actually connected to electricity? These are typical questions that are listed and require an answer. For each job, there are instructions on how you should behave because you are theoretically working on behalf of a company. There is also the possibility to unlock even more contracts for "adults". All you have to do is take a picture of your ID and send it to support.
At first glance, everything seems serious and reliable here. The order that we fulfilled was also accepted and processed by the team. We can therefore recommend the Streetspotr app to you.
ShopScout
The idea behind ShopScout is to earn money while you shop. What can easily be done as a hobby in America with coupons, we have to compensate for here in Germany with hard extra work. Registration is super quick and hassle-free via Facebook. ShopScout looks very clear. So you will quickly find your way around the task area. What you should be aware of is that not all orders bring in guaranteed money, but are sometimes held as competitions, e.g. "Photograph your favorite ice cream flavor - the most beautiful photo wins".
Taking product photos in local shops is also part of it. In the past, ShopScout has often had very negative reviews due to technical difficulties that have emptied users' order lists. Affected users could not claim their money and work more or less for nothing. But that didn't happen to us. However, we advise you not to put too much work into the app before cashing out.
AppJobber
The appJobber app is great for getting an approximate overview of how the jobs will come to you. Here you only have to register if you want to accept a task. Before that, you can look around the offer. With appJobber you can not only complete jobs on the go, but also take part in surveys and test other apps from home. In our case, we downloaded an app from a major data company, entered our details there, and took screenshots to confirm.
After the app had been installed for a few days, we received the confirmation email we needed to complete the order. This may seem very draining at first and you won't see results right away. In return, you have the luxury of not having to constantly rush from one end of the city to the other.
With a feature called “Job Alerts”, you still get the traditional “Go here and do that” jobs.
Roamler
In our opinion, Roamler is the coolest app of them all. There is a level system within the app that unlocks more jobs over time, which also pays better. However, you start at level one and have to fight your way up with some tutorial tasks in order to unlock real paid jobs. For example, you will be shown pictures of shelves and you have to indicate which one was photographed best and meets all the criteria. Roamler is the only app in our test that offers this type of instruction.
Actually, you can only use Roamler if you have an invite code. If there are still free user places in your region, you can simply register like this. You don't feel like you're in a purely commercial environment here, instead, you have that little mini-game factor included. Congratulations - test winner. Incidentally, Roamler is also the only app that we will continue to use hereafter. It is so unique in that it doesn't just let the user do work, but offers a real job on the side.
