PROJECT AMERICA
Project Americas is GTA 6's in-house codename. It's also once again a global rock star production, so not tied to a single game developer studio. There are supposed to be two locations. One is Vice City and a whole new fictional location in Rio de Janeiro.
A few missions will take place in Liberty City. But this is not an open world like the other two locations, but rather has a linear design. You can imagine it like the intromission in GTA 5, which takes place in the place "Ludendorff".
Classic GTA and yet different
According to the leak, GTA 6 takes place in the 1970s and 80s. In this part, however, there should only be one playable character. His name is supposedly Ricardo and at the beginning of the story, he is an aspiring drug dealer. The rumors about a protagonist have turned out to be false according to the current state of knowledge.
Of course, you don't start out as the don of the mafia and have to work your way up the hierarchy. On your way, you will be guided through several drug hotspots in America.
The game balances realism and arcade elements. So it won't be as realistic as Red Dead 2.
A gigantic prison will play a big role in the story. The story itself will take place in a chapter system. Similar to a Tarantino film, the story should be divided into different sections.
Open world mechanics
The weather should be generated dynamically in GTA 6. There were also several weather conditions in GTA, but now hurricanes and floods should also come along, which have a greater impact on the game world.
The buildings you see and can enter in the cities change over different time periods.
You must have weapons on you in order to be able to use them. There is no longer an arsenal of weapons in the ass pocket. But your trunk in your car works almost exactly like the horse saddle in Red Dead 2. A bulletproof vest is no longer invisible, but always visible if it is worn.
drug empire
According to the leak, you will even be involved with Martin Madrazo and his father. The latter was a major drug lord at the time. You do some missions for the family. This also includes attacks on enemy gangs.
Your own little drug empire works a lot like the Vice City stories. By the way, the complete story setup is heavily inspired by the Netflix series Narcos.
The dialogues should contribute a lot to immersion in GTA 6. Also, don't expect to hear a large amount of English dialogue in Rio de Janeiro. So if you can read, you have a clear advantage.
Exclusive next-gen title
GTA 6 will in all likelihood no longer be released for the current generation of consoles. The leap to the next generation is slowly approaching us. If and when the game will be released for the PC is still unknown. A month or two will probably pass between the console release and the PC release, according to rumors the release date should be in autumn 2021.
At the moment the title is still in pre-alpha anyway. The complete leak could also turn out to be wrong at a later date. It is just as likely that names and locations will change.
So we can hope for official announcements from Rockstar. Another game is reportedly in development at Rockstar Games at the moment. It is said to be Bully 2, which fans have also been looking forward to for years.
